Is Holi getting hotter every year in India? Generally, in many areas of India, the festival and season of Holi means that winter has completely ended and now the summer season is starting. But is the day of Holi getting hotter than in the last several years? According to a scientific study, the same thing is happening and the situation will become more dangerous in the future. That means Holi will keep getting hotter in our country.
March and April are getting hotter
A recent study has shown that both March and April are becoming warmer in India since 1970. Along with this, there is also a possibility that in the coming time, the conditions of these months will become even more dangerous and the heat will increase further. The result of this will be that during the festival of Holi, the temperature in many areas of India will exceed 40 degrees Celsius, which was seen only in the 1970s.
who has studied
This study has been done by Climate Central, a group of American scientists. According to media reports, this group has analyzed the daily temperatures from January 1, 1970 to December 2023. According to this study, the northern and western areas of India have seen the highest heat compared to the 1970s.

These two states are ahead in average temperature
The highest increase in average temperature has been seen in Jammu and Kashmir, up to 2.8 degrees Celsius. According to the study, the heat has increased rapidly in the month of April and in this month the state of Mizoram has seen the highest increase in average temperature of 1.9 degrees Celsius.
In the early 1970s, only Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Bihar had only a 5 percent chance that temperatures would exceed 40 degrees Celsius in late March. Today this can happen in 9 states. In this study, researchers studied 51 cities of India and found that in 37 of them i.e. 73 percent, there is a one percent chance that their temperature will reach 40 degrees Celsius or more. In 11 cities this possibility is less than 10 percent. In Bilaspur this probability is highest at 31 percent.
